Bug remover & topcoat reapply
I bought a new Ford Ranger a couple of months ago, and immediately noticed water spots and (possibly) rail dust or some other gunk on the paint. So I took it to a pro detailer and had him decontaminate and polish the paint, and he also used (IIRC) Opti Seal. Came out great! Sorry no catastrophic detailing story here! My question is, when I use a bug remover (love bugs in Texas) will it remove the Opti Seal? If so, are there any brands of bug remover that won't affect the Opti Seal?

Re: Bug remover & topcoat reapply
Most bug removers are APCs/degreasers perhaps with an enzyme that breaks down bug guts.
Start with a little soap and water and see how far you get. Grab the bug remover when you need to get more aggressive than that.
And yes these bug remover products will degrade your protection to some degree.

If it is opti-seal then it is not going to last with any bug remover or APC. Pick up a bottle and reapply. It is not that hard to apply and it is not that durable.

The Optimum Opti-Seal is extremely easy to work with. Any time you use a bug remover to remove bug splatter I would just reapply the Opti-Seal to those areas.

Guz/ Bobby,
I appreciate the suggestion; I'll go ahead and pick up some Opti Seal. Thanks
