Could be that cheaper versions are just as good. Could be that cheaper versions are just that. FLEX is sending me one to test out and along with the Power Station I'll get
MORE information about it and about it's competitors.
So stay tuned...
While expensive, I don't think the price is crazy at all. I'm about to re-start mobile detailing and want to be as eco conscious as I can. Last week I just started looking at alternatives to a generator. I've found nothing even close to this. Even with a single battery this still has more juice than the Honda labeled electric one I'm looking at. And none of the other ones are modular where you can just add another battery and double the life. While I can't even think about buying this today, I'll get the $350 one I saw, and when my business is going well for me I'll almost certainly invest in one of these. Like you said, sometimes you get what you pay for, and considering what this does it's actually pretty reasonably priced. No gas? No noise? up-gradable? Could probably power half my house for an entire day when the power goes out? I need to start saving for one today.
I'll be looking forward to your write up after you get your hands on it.
*EDIT*
I found a kit, comes with 2 7.5Ah batteries for $899. That's actually a great deal for what you get. That's 900'ish Wh of battery life *drool* I've also been looking at battery powered mowers, EGO makes one that looks super, and it's only $100 more for the mower + a 7.5Ah than just the battery on it's own. Yeah, I'm going to own one of these power stations soon, I'll sell a kidney or something to get it lol.
