Which combo will have more cut?
Hello everyone,
I am a weekend warrior and try to keep my cars (BMW in sapphire black metallic and a VW in tourmaline blue) looking good. About every 9-12 months I have been using either Menzerna 3500 or Optimum hyper spray polish with tangerine and crimson LC hydro tech pads to smooth out the love marks that accumulate. Recently I’ve been looking at Megs DA MF line and I was wondering how the cut of their finishing disc with D302 would compare to what I’ve been using?
Thanks for any thoughts!

Re: Which combo will have more cut?
D302 has VERY little cut. The calcified clay is the only form of abrasive in it, and that’s not on purpose.

Re: Which combo will have more cut?
may help to know what polisher you have...
the hydrotech tangerine is a light cut for final polish pad...
I don't know the menz line..but if you like hydrotech ..backstep to the cyan pad for more aggressive cut..
if you are using a fine polish..may also want to backstep the polish to a compound level .. with cyan for first step polish and then final step your tangerine with fine polish..
im in the middle of a full nanoskin, 2 step polish/ sealant / wax on an older camry…
just wrapped up step 1 compound today.. it was a long day....onto step 2 polish.. fine polish ..

Re: Which combo will have more cut?
Over complication..............with todays modern polishes these are way too many steps and over kill for me.
I did not clay this Porsche or nano it or etc. it. Griots G21 with FG400 / finished with Polish Angel
It was trashed with swirls and water spots.
The Show and Shine pretty much shares the results. One steps finsihing down to show car shine are possible.

Re: Which combo will have more cut?
I have a PC. I’m not needing a ton of cut, both cars are daily drivers and I mostly just tolerate the rids and full on scratches. I do have the Megs DA MF cutting pad and D300 for when something obvious drives me insane and I need some extra cut. But I’m usually just polishing to remove the fine, spider web scratches, that seem inevitable no matter how carefully I wash the cars (2 bucket method, good soaps, Rag company microfiber wash mit, etc). Was just wondering if D302 and the MF finishing pad would cut more than or less than, say, hyper polish on the tangerine pad.
I know I could always buy and try a test spot but not sure it would add anything to the arsenal and it’ll take me years to get through the bottle, so thought I’d enlist the wisdom of the crowds.
Thanks again!

D302 contains no abrasives. The cut will come from the pad it is used with.

Re: Which combo will have more cut?
The D302 + Meguiar's micofiber finishing disc might be close to the SF3500 + Tangerine Hydro, but the chance for haze from the pad exists when using fiber pads.
Ultimate Polish features a functional abrasive, and when paired with a microfiber finishing pad should yield more cut.
You might really like Menzerna MC2500 on the Tangerine pads. It offers more correction than the finishing polishes, and finishes out clear and glossy. I get a lot of use out of this polish personally. Doesn't get a lot of love these days, but It's been a reliable tool for me.
