Can someone please tell me what these are?

Rock paint chip and stone rash is basically the same thing. The only difference is when you’ve got stone rash you’ve got a lot of micro nicks spread across a semi large area. Rock paint chip refers to a single chip.

It was sold as certified pre owned, dealership informed me that they had repainted the front bumper because it had minor scuff and scratches. I wasnt into detailing at the time so I didn't really check for the paint condition carefully since everything looked good at the time of purchase

How old is your car? Or how old is the paintjob? I can tell you this, my hood can look nearly perfect, but upon close inspection you’ll find exactly what you see on yours. And it’s certainly stone rash.

I'm kind of surprised the paint prep wipe down didn't get to those or weren't visible during prep work.

He might not of had the right lighting or looked hard enough, that's happened to me.

it's 2014, I purchased my car from the dealership and it seems like the front bumper has been repainted but I'm not sure about the hood. doesn't look like it but I can't tell for sure.

Mines a 2014 too and its covered in road rash. The only difference between a rock chip and road rash is the amount of chips. Road rash is like thousands of little chips.

I’m not to knowledgeable on paint quality and whatnot but I would say that this is just from normal driving... ever been behind a semi and it drifts out of the lane? Sound like your car getting sandblasted, at least it does here in ny.

Nah. The Kias clean minus 1 rock chip on the hood that I try to ignore.

Neglected as in driving through harsh conditions such as industrial highways occupied by semi trucks or maybe driving on dirt roads or something.
