    Unidentified Mark on Hood

Washed my car today and noticed an odd mark on my hood. I didn't notice anything weird before I washed it and am VERY OCD about my hood.

I sprayed a little quick detailer on it to see if it would come off and it didn't do a whole lot.

Wanted to through it out to the forum and ask what you think it is and how to best get rid of it.

    Thanks!

    Unidentified Mark on Car

Washed my car today and noticed an odd mark on my hood. I didn't notice anything weird before I washed it and am VERY OCD about my hood. It has no texture on it - completely smooth so I don't think it is remnants of sap or tar.

Wanted to throw it out and ask what you think it is and how to best get rid of it.

Looks something sticky dried up. Have you tried IPA , isopropyl alcohol or tar remover.

it looks like water spot etching or a bird bomb. clean the area (qd) and use a light polish with a foam applicator and see where that gets you...

As Bobby, said, a light polish or cleaner wax/AIO would be indicated, I see your Meguiar's bottles in the picture, what do you have on hand?

funny i just found something similar on my hood. i tried clay & some hd speed AIO by hand & nothing worked. i did notice some kind of twig or tree dropping a couple of days earlier in that spot. guess i should have removed it sooner. might be some kind of sap or something else. I'll try this weekend to remove it. if you find something that works don't forget to shout it out. and I'll do the same. good luck

Keep us updated as to the results of polishing.

Also, I merged you other identical thread in the Off Topic forum group into this one. Normally you only need to start one thread per topic.

Hey all- so it must have been some water etching because I applied some Blackfire polish and it disappeared. Good thing because I was super nervous - brand new car and I am babying this thing. Thanks for all the help!
