Agree but I would rather do less passes as possible with my flex= less time buffing= more cars done per week= more money in my pocket.you absolutely would not be able to produce results quicker and faster results on aircraft or sanded boats. But again that's my opinion and it deosnt mean squat.Buy what you want and be happy.

Exactly. Someone experienced, and well versed with the 3401 is going to get more out of it than someone dedicated to using another tool.

This is incorrect compared to the industry standard. Flex counts their OPM different. The 3401 actually spins at 4800 OPM on speed 6. I GUARANTEE this. A GG 6" spins faster than a 3401, but that's with NO LOAD. That's what makes the 3401 unique, as it's the only DA that won't slow down when pressure is applied. Even if I didn't know this, on speed 6, the 3401 never struck me as spinning at 9600 OPM. That is A LOT! Totally made sense once KB told me the 3401 only spins at 4800 OPM full throttle.

I mistakenly got rid of mine too. It truly had a place in the tool chest.
I went through a "one and done" phase, where historically I like many options. I'll eventually be adding the Rupes 21, Flex PE-14 (again, mistakenly sold mine), and the 3401.

Yep 4800 opm only at speed 6! Plus with only an 8mm orbit thats why its so slow in correction and old tech. Does it get the job done? Yes, just like a PC does.

And comparing a rotary to a DA is quite silly and it shows that you yourself do not know much about technique or what being a professional entails.
Flex 3401:
Power output: 590 watts
Orbit rate: 3600-9600
Rupes 21 MK2
Power output: 500 watts
Orbit rate: 2500-4700
Hmmm, the Rupes is more powerful? "Certain individuals" need to stop "giving lies!"
Wattages doesnt mean everything. Chinese Rupes knock offs have 900w and so does Boss and yet MK2 is supposed to be more powerfull. With your logic Griots Boss Destroys Rupes Mk2 and Flex. Rupes is just very efficent. Today i again removed p1500 sanding marks from metallic blue bmw hood with Rupes 21 Mk2 and mf pad with one section pass of 4 overlaps. Only 2 steps from p1500 to perfect.

Not sure where you heard that at, but my G21 is noticeably more powerful than my MK2....and my MK2 does not correct faster than my G21. I have both obviously as well as a 3401.
I was in the same boat as the OP quite awhile ago and was sick of all the misinformation so I just went ahead and bought all the machines to try myself, ended up keeping all of them.
