    Newbie question

    Hi all,
I surely hope I am doing this properly as far as what and where to post. I intend to follow a lot of the tips on here going forward and enjoying the forums. I have a question right off the bat. I just bought a new 2016 Ford. I have washed it 3 times. Apparently it sat on another dealer's lot dirty for quite a while. Even after washes it has something that looks like water spots on the hood. I don't think? they are waterspots because they don't rub off and the truck has been dried immediately. They are amoeba shaped with dark edges and 1/4 to 3/8 in width. I'd like to get rid of this #1 without harming the coating and #1 before I start on your protecting and detailing tips. Thanks so much for any advice!

    Re: Newbie question

Welcome to the forum. Hopefully, the water spots aren't that bad. However, I would look to claying your ride after washing it to get rid of other contaminants. I would look at getting some water spot remover or just go to your local grocery store and get white vinegar and see if you can remove the spots. Make sure you are in shaded area. If all else fails then you would look into polishing your ride.

But if you are going to polish your ride I would look into a full correction Compound (at worst), polishing and then applying either a sealant, wax or both. Either way, please let us know your outcome and show pics! Welcome to AGO.

I call this the process of elimination.

    PS: I hope I helped a little.
