Paint stuck on gasket
I am needing to remove a tail light but a previous paint job had paint run into the seam and onto the gasket. I am worried that when I take the tail light off, the paint will chip and I'll have a mess on my hands. What's the best way to deal with this?

If it has to come out, cut it with a razor blade. Let the owner know the situation.

Re: Paint stuck on gasket
Thanks Mike, I'm the owner. I just had a small rust bubble area repaired on the other side of the car. When the painter took the light off, the paint chipped, no big deal as they were working on the area. They didn't take the other light off after the first one had the chipped paint. I'm doing some work on the lenses and replacing the old cracked gasket so i want to take it out. So if i scrore the paint with a razor blade a few times, do you think it will be enough to prevent chipping?
