Re: Product, technique or both? What am I doing wrong?
What about using the flat side of the applicator instead?

I started with a circle around the center of the pad, and another circle around it towards the outside, not thick but decent amount.
Kissed the paint with it first and then began the circular motions. It did nothing except leave small circular imprints from the little recesses in the pad and something i would call dragging marks as I can't think of a better term.
This compared to the meguairs foam applicator which spreads the product out nicely....

No one seems to like those CCS pads.

woops haha if only I'd known. I did however pick up a pack of 4 of the meguiars foam applicator pads which will do the job rather nicely.
Sucks that I got these instead of the polishing pal, waste of $11

I purchased orange white and red, and actually cut them up to smaller hand held versions to get into tight areas, because lets face it. Who needs a hand held one that big in the days of DAs?

I just mean, either as a machine pad or a hand pad, rarely does anyone say they like the CCS pads...it's like a solution in search of a problem. I think I got some red (machine) pads once as a freebie, not sure I even tried them (I rarely use finishing pads anyway).

Gotcha, I actually use CCS pads on my GG6. only have tried Hexlogic, then LC flat but in the 3in version, and i disliked them, never a 5.5+ flat pad. So I honestly can not comment. Tried others but only for a panel or so, not enough to comment on. Id like to get my hands on a flat pad an do a test area.
Where about in NJ are you. Maybe we can try it out.

My thoughts are if you are going to continue to use NXT (which is a fair wax at best) just continue to use that purple applicator. NXT doesnt clean out of the sponge at all. Also, it needs to be applied very thin. If you are getting any of it on the paint at all, its enough.
