Thin is in...

I've been playing around with these new thin foam buffing pads and really like them. The thinness makes it a breeze for all DA Polishers to maintain rotation and oscillation when removing swirls, water spots, oxidation and scratches.

These will be a great pad for anyone still using a first generation PC or Meguiar's G100, see this article...

How to maximize the ability of the 1st Generation Porter Cable Dual Action Polishers

Here's a couple pictures I took to show the difference between the thickness of the new 7/8" pads and the 1 1/4" version of these pads.

Also, either the Cyan or Tangerine pads work great with our Indigo Bonnets for removing waxes that dry.

NICE! Gotta pick up some of these real soon.

Any idea when you'll be replenishing your stock of '59 Coupe de Villes? :p

The thing I like here is not only that they allow DAs to stay in rotation more easily, but they take up significantly less space making storage of more pads easier. Will definitely be checking these out as I take some of my other pads out of rotation (no pun intended). :props:

So, when you gonna get that Cadillac back in stock?

sure are nice thin pads ....

Re: Thin is in... New Lake Country Hydro-Tech Low Profile 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on these Hydro-Tech pads. I think it will be cheaper in the long run to stay stocked up on three different hydro pads instead of 5 or 6 different flat or CCS pads.

Re: Thin is in... New Lake Country Hydro-Tech Low Profile 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads

What about them makes them better? Like how does being thinner make it maintain speed better?

And are they cheaper because there's less of it?

Does appear to be cheaper - $7.99 vs. $9.99 - if they're better and cheaper, you can't beat that!

Thanks Mike for letting everyone know about these pads!

I would imagine that since there is less material in these pads, they wont' get loaded up with as much product and end up being lighter weight than a traditional pad.... which means the machine won't have to work as hard to get them moving.

Re: Thin is in... New Lake Country Hydro-Tech Low Profile 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads

I read a lot of bad comments about the hydro-tech I am still afraid to buy them. Those problems, are they resolved or there's still problem with the velcro and the center of the pad ?

I know at one time they said they had the problem resolved.

They are a different tpye of foam and require a little more care. As far as backing or center of the pad I have never had one issue. I dry my pads completely...

Re: Thin is in... New Lake Country Hydro-Tech Low Profile 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads

When will these be available in 6 1/2" OD

Re: Thin is in... New Lake Country Hydro-Tech Low Profile 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads

Mike, so there's a noticeable difference as far as keeping the pad rotating between these and the thicker hydro's?

Re: Thin is in... New Lake Country Hydro-Tech Low Profile 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads

You guys announced these 3 days too late, just got my order in with a handful of ccs pads....would have loved to try something new. They will be in my next order.

Re: Thin is in... New Lake Country Hydro-Tech Low Profile 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads

I've just made the move to 5.5" CCS pads from the 6.5" CCS pads,
Man, they are heaps better to work with!!!

I've been looking at these hydro pads, and I think next order, i'm going to have to throw some of these babies in!

Re: Thin is in... New Lake Country Hydro-Tech Low Profile 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads

I recall when thin CCS pads came out there were labeled as bad.
