Re: Water spot etching on Transparent, tinted roof panel for C7 Corvette coupe
Hot sauce product did not remove water spot etchings either. So far, I have spent money on various products, none of which I might add, have worked at all.

Not sure if it has been established if this is plastic with a tint.
Normally tints are applied to inside of panels or mixed into the glass if OEM.
If it is plastic it can definitely be polished out with a product not sold here.
I tried it today on a piece of plastic with a defect you could feel with your fingernail and it completely removed without a lot of effort.
Not sure if you can send me a message so I can direct you to the product.

{Many different "types" of plastics.}
This panel is a "Lexan-plastic" that
has, as its final top-coat, an OEM
approved tinted "hard coat".
-Acrylic plastics can be polished.
-Lexan plastics...not so much.

Re: Water spot etching on Transparent, tinted roof panel for C7 Corvette coupe
Just received Brillianize Lexan plastic polish product today in the mail....At this rate I will either find something that removes these mineral water spot etching or apparently go broke trying to do so..Have two or three more products I ordered from Autogeek, that I'll try out on the transparent top as well, whenever they arrive here!
This product made for use on Lexan plastic did nothing to remove the water etched spots😞 On my cars transparent top.

As I mentioned before:
It's very difficult to remove blemishes
from the polysiloxane (silicone)-"hard-coat"
film-layer, that's been applied atop this Lexan
targa top/panel.
I was sure hoping you wouldn't have
to resort to this repair method:
