Remove white staining (sunscreen lotion??) from black leather and trim
Hey guys,
just bought a 2015 Porsche 911 and it looks as if the white staining along the glove box and doors are from sunscreen lotion possibly? It’s a convertible from CA so it seems likely. I’ve heard it’s difficult to remove. I did order some Meguairs APC and the D181 leather cleaner. Will one of these do the trick? I plan to use a Adams soft nylon interior brush to scrub it with.
also, the perforated portion of the front seats look slightly dirtier than the rest, is it safe to use the above technique their as well?

Not sure. Try and see. Steam clean maybe. I use Optimum Leather a lot. You'd think if it was lotion it wouldn't be too tough to remove unless it stained it.
Before and after steam clean on John Deere cab.

The lotion (or whatever it is) has likely been in the leather/dash area for some time. Ive read good things about Meguiars APC and if used in a stronger dilution (4-1) it removes pretty stubborn stains. Once my products arrive I will report back. I was just curious if anyone had a similar situation.

That could be sunscreen, makeup or lotion. I've previously used Megs Ultimate Quik Interior detailer to remove fresh sunscreen from letter seats.
I've had success with Blackfire APC removing it from textured dash. I had a soft bristled brush I brushed with and wiped off. Mind you was not older than 1 month old. I hate makeup, glitter, lotion and sunscreen my wife leaves all over haha
