Black Walled
I was watching one of your videos from SEMA when you were talking to one of the guys from Rupes
You mentioned .matte black walls to help see scratches or something because we all see them white.,I only caught some of it due to shop noise
My question is lighting placement on the walls, what's your preference for location of lights and for distance of the walls

I talked to Dylan at Rupes about this subject before re doing our shop. He explained that all white with the bright lighting tends to wash out defects. The light keeps reflecting off the vehicle and the walls repeatedly. We have gone matte dark grey and I can tell you it works.

Re: Black Walled
super nice shop ! I really like that matte gray look,,does the natural light from the windows benefit you or work against you ?
I worked in a shop one time that had 70 ft long by 15 ft tall of windows with southern exposure,,I really liked it especially in the winter,,the rest of the place was a dungeon though.
I always like natural light when I can get it and some of my work lights are "natural" floodlights which work really good for me.
I tried LED lighting in some spots but I didn't like because I could see all the individual bulbs in the finish and it drove me nuts.
