New truck
I am getting a new Ford F350 in ruby red in a couple of weeks. Instead of having the dealer do a Simonize sealant of the paint for too much money, I would like to do it myself. They say I won't have to wax it for seven years! The truck will be my weekend warrior vehicle. Any recommendations on new truck prep and sealants/ceramic coatings (longer lasting would be better)
Thanks......Razzle Dog

Re: New truck
Congrats on the new ride. Looking forward to the pics. I’ll let the more seasoned guys recommend products but you can’t really go wrong with most of the brands sold here.

Re: New truck
Many recommendations, but the first one is to NEVER let a dealer touch it.
You are on the right track already.

You'll be touching it every other year, trust me/us. One thing that's going to be friend are the many spray on, hose off sealants.

Any recommendations...
Being that an F350 means “a lot of territory”;
and, keeping the above descriptor in mind
(weekend warrior)...I’ll suggest the following:
•AIOs (Cleaner/Sealants)
-Maintained with:
•Spray Sealants

Here is just one example of many, many
such combinations available here at AGO:
•Optimum Poli-Seal
-Maintained with:
•Optimum Spray Wax
(a “hybridized” spray Sealant)

Re: New truck
Even though it’s new you should still plan on claying and decon before applying a sealant. Do this as soon as you get it. I would go with McKees 10 minute sealant followed by McKees HydroBlue and top off with 10 Minute Sealant every 6 months and the HydroBlue every 3 months. This is a quick, easy, and effective maintenance plan for that big truck.

Re: New truck
New means it hasn’t been titled or registered. New doesn’t mean pristine out of the box experience. A dealership can put 40k miles on a car and still sell it as new.
We offer a new vehicle prep package that includes:
Engine & Bay cleaned and dressed
CQuartz DLUX Nano-Glass ceramic coating added to all plastics under hood
Wheels, wells and tires decontaminated and cleaned
Paint decontaminated with Iron-X
Foam bath wash by hand
Blow Dry
Detailers Clay
Paint inspected and if required; Machine Polished to remove light to moderate scratches and defects
CQuartz Nano-Glass Ceramic Coating 2-year protection applied to all paint
CQuartz Dlux applied to plastic trim, head-lights and tail-lights
CQuartz Dlux applied to wheels
Sealant applied to door jambs
Exterior Windows cleaned
Tires dressed
Includes Full Interior Service as required
