I'd see what he says first and after that choose a quality name brand APC to start with. I would also spray the entire seat, not just the spot. Seems like when you only try to clean the "spot" you can always see the tale-tale sign of where you worked.
If you treat the entire face of the seat you'll leave a more uniform appearance.

I once saw my buddy Dimitri, (Trainer for SONAX) take a Hershey Chocolate Bar and rub it all over red alcantara and then use this product to remove 100% of the Chocolate.
It was a very impressive demonstration and Chocolate has vegetable oil in it.
