it from petco for fish tanks. I cut it to fit the grit guard. The filter pad can make two filters. Haven't try it yet.

Is it necessary?

To trap the dirt and junk. Necessary no but the grit guard is not so. Just some thing I working on! I will see how it works

Maybe you could put goldfish in your rinse bucket...

Let us know how it works.

While I must commend you for your ingenuity, My though is that your "filter" will not really improve anything since the contaminents are already below the grit guard when they hit the filter.

Are you thinking that the poly material will catch contaminents and stop them from being churned back up above the grit guard? If so, Your thinking is correct but it wouldnt work for me as I only use the top half of the rinse bucket to rinse my mitt between panels. For people that knock their wash tool on the grit guard, this idea may just be plausable.

Wouldn't that need forced water pressure through the filter to work? You are not going to get much water pressure from rinsing a mit in there.

I think it is not a bad idea. The dirt particles will become in trapped in the filter and swirling caused by rubbing your mitt against the grit guard will not refloat the dirt particles.

YES that what I was thinking!

I already use two girt guards and the filter is at the bottom.

I'm Thinking filter in the middle may be better? what do u guy think?

i doubt that debris will travel through that in a regular grit guard..but give it a try! I'd see this work with the new style that CG carries. the standard guard has too many open spaces.

Oh I get it, it's underneath. So the dirt on the bottom sticks to the filter?
Sounds like it could help

Hmm... I might try that. Except i would probably cut into quarters so i don't lose too much space in my 3gal Home Depot buckets.
