My all around LED anchor light was no longer "all around" as the sun had hazed it over like 10 year old Taurus headlights. I could buy a headlight restoration kit, but a wool pad and rotary does it again. At first I thought it was so far gone, I sanded for an hour with 600,1500 and 2500 to no real avail so time to get out the power tools....

fire up the rotary and wool pad - apply Duragloss 561 or heavy compound and and run it upside down like a jewelers wheel -work the light against the pad - haze disappears...

5 years of sun did this - when it came off the boat, you could not see the LEDS - this is after sanding for an hour!

4 min of compounding did this---ignore dremel - not used

now apply opti-coat 2.0 so it never happens again...

glen, next time try sanding for 5 min with each one (may not even need the 600), then doing the rotary step, you may be surprised...

I think you can get even more clarity with a softer pad and a finishing polish

Thanks -
I was not done when I took this - I then switched to a foam polish pad and used D151 and then 205 and got it super clear - then ISP'd, and opti-coat - looks better than brand new...
