Will Rotary Make a Comeback
More Purging Questions/Polling
3 Rupes, 2 Bosses, and 1 Milwaukee Cordless DA in the -keep stash-
I don't even polish annually. Only touch up on 2 garage queens that don't have PPF.
Dailys are full wrap PPF
I don't own any rotary's anymore but I have a small stash of the 3M PI backing plates, some adapters, and a few 5 and smaller 2 Inch Rotary plates all imported back in the day and spent way too much money on.
Been holding on but I think it's time to let it go.
Whaddya guys say. Will there ever be some new crazed thing that will have me needing 5/8 ever again

Re: Will Rotary Make a Comeback
I'm thinking about jeweling my paint with a rotary this year after watching some of the DIY videos.
Right now i'm looking at the white rupes waffle pad or maybe I'll wait for the DIY red pad.
One thing about the rotary it's very smooth and quiet. Especially on speed 1. And i have a mini rotary so its a fun tool to use.
It will be interesting to try and see how it goes. Maybe i can take my paint to a slightly higher level in shine.
I think i just talked myself into it.

Good idea, but you'll need a DA afterwards to finish the process .. rotary is a tough client as we know it !

With forced rotation DA's, there's no need for a rotary for 95+% of the people.

That's not the goal. If i have to go over it with a DA i will never do it again.
It's supposed to be the final polishing step.

i've always said back in the day with the PC (and similar DA's) it's not only the machine but the evolving technology of pads and chemicals to push the boundaries even further...

Wonder whatever happened to those Menzerna jewling polishes that were all the rage.
Think it was PO85rd or something

I got a sample of Menzerna from somebody years ago. It worked fine but the results really didn't look any different than other products on traditional clearcoat. I guess on ceramic clear they work pretty well.

Hardly possible to achieve the final result with the rotary only, in my view.
