Re: How often do you wash - what about LSP degradation

Generally I think it ends up being about once a week for me. I only wash the car if I know I can get a good stretch of rainless days.

After drying I almost always hit it with Ultimate Quik Wax.

I should mention the vast majority of my washes this year have been rinseless.

In the winter I'll go weeks. It's only been since the last 3 years I became much more interested in detailing. I was always a wash every month or so person. I always have kept up with the interior though.

Re: How often do you wash - what about LSP degradation

I would wash the vehicles every day all day if I could. I just enjoy the activity especially if I am trying a new product or using a new detailing tool. With this year's drought, it has only been about every two weeks and then its usually a rinseless wash. Under normal circumstances it would be 2 or 3 times a week. If the LSP wears off, then just apply more!

Re: How often do you wash - what about LSP degradation

I wash my black audi at least once a week during the summer. This year I ve done mostly twice a week because I just like staying active . The problem with black cars is that they get dusty very quickly. This one sleeps inside a garage and very rarely gets driving when it rains

My white cadillac gets wash once a week or once every two weeks, the car always looks clean. This one lives outside and it gets use when it rains

My white BMW was almost the same as the cadillac

I think whoever owns black cars can feel the pain of having a dirty car the very next day you wash it .

Lastly , I ve been guilty of washing the car 3 times in a week this year, specially if it rains . It actually rained today and I was not able to wash the car because Im driving the company van , it hurts

Re: How often do you wash - what about LSP degradation

I'm a once a week guy, but if time permitted I'd go twice a week. I drive 75 mile round trip every day and can't stand bug guts. I used to carry detail spray or waterless wash with me to do a quick front end wipe down daily to keep them off. I got a bit lazy and stopped that practice for 4 or 5 years, but getting back into it again.
