    Re: Griot’s 3 in 1 Ceramic Longevity & upkeep

My observation with my car matches what you've noticed. While it doesn't make the super tight tiny beads, what I have noticed it does is maintain water behavior even as it accumulates dirt/dust/pollen/etc.

The 2 big factors that make me happy to keep using it are ease of use (even as a drying aid) and the fact that water spotting (for me) has been a complete non-issue.

My only gripe with it is if you spray it onto the car, I inevitably get little dots that get carried from the breeze and I have to re-wipe areas I've already done. So, no matter if it's fresh application or as a drying aid, I just spray it into the towel and apply that way.

I feel the same. Ease of use is great and so is durability. The sheeting properties are great with 3 in 1.

The 3 in1 product does a fantastic job though at sheeting water. That I did notice.
I started using 3 in 1 back in early June on a car whose coating is nearing it's end of life and I didn't have time to deal with. I do notice the beading is tighter than many waxes or sealants, but no where near what I've seen from a coating or even Wolfgang's SiO2 Paint Sealant. My guess this is due to the product probably having a lower level of the "ceramic" ingredient that drives the surface tension than other products.

Sheeting has been excellent for me too and it seems to not attract dust very easily too; an added bonus. A couple of heavy down pours of rain and the car is practically clean!

Nothing I've said is a knock on the product. I like it and think it looks really good too. I'm very happy using it, and if I lived in a milder climate I'd be tempted to use it as my primary LSP...or at least until I was distracted by some other shiny object....

Isn't Ceramic and Sio2 the same?

Yes, in the marketing world, it’s the same.

I've heard 1-2 sprays per panel. Is that about what you've used? Do you recall how many sprays for the hood?

I’ve been impressed with it. Previous regimen was polish and wax, was disappointed with the dust and self-cleaning properties, no such disappointment with 3-1.

Applied in early June, top with CSS after each maintenance wash, and it’s like I just applied it again.

4 sprays on hood for me, 2 on each side. A little does go a long way.

    Griot’s 3 in 1 Ceramic Longevity & upkeep

Yeah beading nothing exciting.... par with TWSNS. Beading wise. Last longer and water sheets off better.

Was a nice base for PA Cosmic.

Also works well as a topper. Used recently on Rav4 as a topper for Moonlight/Adams GSC and the water behavior of underlying products shined through.

I never got around to topping 3 in 1 with their CSS to see it it changed any of the water behavior.
