Mb kite = Mercedes Benz mechanic and kite. I have 4 line kites (revolution kites) fly them like an airplane wing.
My son can fly them in and out of the ocean make it completely disappear and fly it out
Plus when my kids were setting up the computer 2 decades ago you needed a screen name

Probably goes back to hiding identity due to "strangers on the internet". Remember when advice given was to NEVER meet someone from the internet? Look at all the internet dating apps these days.
My username is my real name here on AG.

Re: Forum Nicknames - I still don't get it?
My screen name is my first name followed by the first 3 letters of my last name.
No way I wanted to type all 11 of that Pollak last name when I first joined forums.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Ok rant over. But if that so called Eldorado guy reads this, I’m calling you out. Show yourself. Lol.
FYI, Cadillac melded the name of the legendary lost city of gold in to one word and then used it to name the new model they created to celebrate the golden (50th) anniversary of the company.

So did you petition the OSU Super Computing Dept. for access back then (as it was the only way to get online) ? I was one of their first 50 applicants. You got 5 hrs. of access time per week. Connection was achieved via a 2400 baud modem and you needed a terminal emulation program like RipTerm. I remember burning up a whole week's time allotment just downloading a tiny file ...

Sent Mike a PM. I have no reason to not use my name. Only chose first initial and last name as that’s what I’ve done forever in forums but this one people are a little closer and I like the idea of easily seeing everyone’s name.

Stalkers and a lot of things. Forums are easy to search. That said I have been Alkemyst since the late 90's. Been online through X.25 since 1983.
Also that said I may as well use my real name since with that long of history I can be found.
For me I like Alkemyst though.

Never really thought if using my name. Just didn’t seem to be the done thing. That said I’ve been cadfael-tex-> ltzippy -> cptzippy -> texchappy across fora etc over the past 20 years or so.

When I joined here I just used the same nickname that I used on a motorcycle forum... I had two blacks Harley's at the time thus 2black1s.
