Correct.
When it comes to cleaner/waxes or all-in-ones, (same exact type of product), the product is doing three things at the same time,
Clean or correct
Polish
Protect
A one-step product and process will never work as well as using "dedicated" products and multiple-step processes. I cover this in all my classes, it's why I teach show car detailing and production detailing. It's the portion of the classes that is the most fun. Using multiple multiple tools, pads and products.

Also just to point out...
Almost all of the waxes type products we find at our local auto parts stores are one-step cleaner/waxes or AIOs.
They HAVE TO BE. I explain why in this article,

One more thing before I move on....
What I've been topping my one-step cleaner/waxes with is SONAX Polymer Net Shield.
Easily get 6 months of water beading as long as whoever is washing it is washing it carefully.
Remember - how long any product lasts on the surface in part comes from how the surface is "touched".

I have thought about what could work in synergy with Speed exept Poxy. The thought I have about is something with montan wax in it. What comes to mind is dodo juice blue velvet wax or dodo juice purple haze that has montan in it. Could something like that be an option?

Those should definitely be great options. I’ve also noticed the last few weeks that Blackfire polymers go great with Poxy on black paint (I’ve been using Blackfire polymer spray and waterless wash). This leads me to believe that Blackfire sealant, BlackIce or Midnight Sun would look great on top of Speed.

Poxy is made to top over Speed.

Last summer I polished my wife's car with Speed, applied a coat of Poxy and then a coat of Ultimate Fast Finish (since it's designed to go on top of other Waxes and Sealants). Looks great and still beading like crazy and the car stays very clean.
