Lake Country Thin purple foamed wool pad vs Megs mf xtra cut disc?

Which one of those two is more agressive cutting pad used on long throw machines? Sometimes on hammered super hard clearcoats i want bit more cut than megs mf (i also have pe 14-2 and wool pad). So which one is the winner? Also do you prime thin foamed wool pads just like microfiber pads?

I always prime takes 2 seconds to do.you want extra cut ,that will mainly come from the product you choose and the pad will help achieve that goal.If the clearcut is so hard then it's rotary time.

Thanks but that really didnt help me at all. What i was asking which pad is more agressive and is it ok to prime lc thin foamed wool like mf pad? I do have Flex rotary and very agressive 10" woolpad, however it is not very nice to use and rotary with foam cuts less than Rupes with microfiber and cuts bit more with woolpad.

    That's a really good question.

You'll probably get more inherent cut from the thin foamed wool pad.

Microfiber's advantage is the ability to hold more abrasives - increased surface area. The fiber itself is relatively gentle. Wool fibers on the other hand are thicker, and naturally more aggressive. Both pads lack a thick foam backing, which transfers the backing plate energy directly to the fibers.

I've used the thin foamed wool, but not the xtra cut though, so take it with a grain of salt.

The thin foamed wool was monstrous in defect removal, but a very uncomfortable user experience.

Uncomfortable how and which machine did you use? I will probably get both and do side by side test.

Dunno about the extra cut MF but last year was trying some stuff on our 'test car' (2006 black Mazda3) trunk and Megs D300 w/ megs micro cutting disc did OK and then I tried a purple thin foamed wool with Megs M101 and went through the clearcoat in about 2-3 passes (using GG6). Oops!

It was on a Porter Cable 7424xp, with a thin, dense backing plate.

I was using M105 compound at speeds 5, and 6. It was very grabby, and was trying to pull me all over the car. A shot of M34 helped a bit.

I'm planning on trying them again also.

Thanks for that link. It was a great read.

I bought some of those thin purple foamed wool pads a while back...... but haven't gotten around to using them.
