F-350 King Ranch detail - 14 hours non stop

My client with the 57 Chevy (seen here: 57 Chevy Convertible 31hr correction by Immaculate Reflections), asked me to do his daily driver. He didn't want a full correction on this one, but did want to cut down on some of the swirls and bring the luster back to the paint.

With only 1 day to get this one done before he hit the road again for the next week, time was of the essence. The sheer size of this vehicle made a wash/clay/correction/sealant/interior detail quite the undertaking for one day. Owner requested I use the King Ranch brand leather cleaner and conditioner for the special leather on this truck. The majority of the truck had heavy water spotting which was especially bad on the glass. The clear was definitely on the hard side and took a while to find a combination that gave acceptable results. Correction was a combination of Megs MF cutting pad, M105/D300 and LC cyan with M105. Final polishing with M205 on LC white. Approximately 80% correction was achieved. LSP was Zaino Z5pro x2.

Total time was 14 hours, non-stop. Lunch and dinner were both sandwiches....1 bite then back to work. No time to stop to eat. No sun pictures upon completion as it was nearly 1am when I was driving away.

    Upon arrival

This deep scratch was about 90% removed during the paint correction. The remainder was too deep to remove.

After 1 step of compounding. Final polishing yet to be done.

Paint looking better. Glass still needing polishing...

    Interior pics (finished)

I didn't see any before interior pics so I don't know if you worked on the seats.

I have never treated that kind of leather before. It looks like a thicker "saddle leather"

Is it actually different than normal leather? And how should it be approached?

The rest of the truck sure was a lot of work. I hope the owner appreciates it.

Since the owner requested I use his cleaner and conditioner it would be odd to say that and then not do it. I'm sorry but I just didn't have time to get before pics of the interior. It was in good shape to start with anyway so there wasn't a dramatic changeover. Just to clarify...Yes I did work on the seats.

Yes its much thicker like a saddle. I had never used this kind of leather cleaner and conditioner before, but the directions were pretty much the same as most others.

That looks great now!! Nice work! You got a lot accomplished in 14 hours. I haven't had the pleasure of working on a King Ranch yet, though when asked to do a Ford F-Series truck I always ask up front if it's a King Ranch so I can be sure that I have the right products to do the leather.
