I think the only real way to eliminate the smell is to tackle it from the source. Maybe use the Ozone Generator for follow up. I'm in for other user's experiences however.

My first ever clay bar was from Mothers and it came with a bottle of QD/Spray lube. I had never used a QD before and loved it! I have since bought two more of those combo's as they are quality...

I use the "Wookies Fist" Dodo Juice mitt. Merina wool. It takes more time to maintain, but well worth it.

If it's anything like Fuzion or Souverign, it should be "buttery". Another fine PBMC creation.

You could always mount some castors on a plastic storage container...
You would spend ~$20 on 4 castors though unless you salvaged them from something else. Just put them on one and you can stack...
