Review: Optimum Power Clean
I know this product is very well known, but it was a new product to me and I have used it extensively the past few days and wanted to share my opinions on it. I had wanted to try Power Clean so on my last order I picked up a 17 oz. bottle to try.
I will start with the basics.
Description (From Manufacturer's Website)
Optimum Power Clean is an all purpose cleaner that safely cleans your vehicle’s dirtiest surfaces. Remove bugs, brake dust, and oily grime when using Power Clean full strength. Dilute it to clean leather, vinyl, and plastics. Optimum Power Clean is an environmentally friendly, safe cleaner that will leave your vehicle spotless!
Product Characteristics
Appearance: Golden Orange
Scent: Chemical similar to most degreasers, but not nearly as harsh.
Recommended Dilution Range: Straight or up to 3:1 depending on task
My Observations and Usage
I have used this product to clean a few items now including, but not limited to; Plastic, Metal, Leather, Rubber, and Vinyl. My most clear experience of how good of a cleaner this is came from cleaning a friend's armrest for him to show him how badly his car needed detailed. This armrest is in a 2000 Cadillac Deville and the vehicle has just about 150,000 miles on it.
I taped off the armrest to show a 50/50 of its condition as I started and after being cleaned. I applied the product diluted at 3:1 (water: product) and lightly agitated the Power Clean with a leather brush. The product foamed nicely, was very easy to control and wiped clean with no residue. Most importantly, the product safely cleaned in a very, very effective manner. The photo below will show you how effective of a cleaner this product really is.
Left: Uncleaned - Right: After Power Clean
Overall Thoughts
Optimum Power Clean is a very safe and effective cleaner that is easy to use and will give you fantastic results. If the product does have a downside, it is the price. Don't get me wrong, Power Clean is well worth the going rate, but with other all purpose cleaners being available for as cheap as about $1.00 a gallon (diluted) some people may have a hard time justifying the higher price.
Overall, I highly recommend the product to anyone who has wanted to try it or any APC for that matter. I also know next time I need a versatile cleaner, I will be re-ordering Power Clean. Only next time, it will be in a larger quantity.

Thanks for the great write-up! I use Meguiar's APC+ as my general APC and OPC on my own car or situations where OPC just beats APC+

I had the same thought. I have used and like Meg's APC+ too. I am going to keep the OPC for my own use, at least for now.

What a horrible review I've been considering OPC to compliment my Megs APC (green).
After this review it's convinenced me to purchase on my next order along with their spray wax

Nice before/after shot that thing was dirty!!
OPC is my go-to APC except for carpets (Megs APC+ is just more economical).
OPC is fantastic because it is safe on almost any surface when applied properly.
