    Hail damage repair?

Just had hail hit my vehicles last night. About the size of golfballs. I've heard where many of these can be popped out, but I've read that it can weaken the integrity of the clearcoat. It sounds to me like you really need to have a car's clear coat resprayed after the dent repair. Has anyone had any experience with this? I'd hate to polish my car after the hail damage and subsequent paint repair only to find I am now running into clearcoat failure due to weak/thin/flexed/pealing clearcoat. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Contact a first rate paintless dent removal technician (PDR).

I sure hope that it will be covered by your insurance. The best ones charge by the dent. And can many times remove the dent with no trace at all.
Possibly without having to pull down the headliner.

Were any windows broken? That can make the difference between a repair and a total on a car.

I had this happen to my Jeep just after I bought it in '06. Must have had 50-60 dings in the hood and roof. The PDR guy worked with my body shop and removed every one (including a door ding not related). Still have the Jeep and there are no issues with the clear coat.

PDR doesn't require a respray. My speed3 had a ton of small dents last spring. It came out perfect

    Re: Hail damage repair?

That's good to hear. Insurance will cover it, no doubt. None of the glass was broken. My paint was pretty much pristine before the hail though on my main dd. I mean it was time for a spring polish, and I guess I'll hold off with that until after the repair is made. The worst part though, is that I had 3 vehicles in the driveway that were damaged by the hail.

My vehicle was damaged by hail last year, I took it to the bodyshop I have used in the past. They have a PDR company that they use frequently. They do great work and insurance covered everything.
