Re: Threads that Grind My Gears
Haha.
I just dislike in general when people get emotionally attached to threads and take what could be a good, informative discussion and turn it into a bash fest.
I also dislike a general attitude of everyone should be an expert. Thankfully, that's rare on this forum. But frequently barking 'use search' or attacking folks for asking about deeply opinionated things; when noobies don't know they are such sensitive subjects! I think the OTC discussion, for example, is very valid for newbies. As a newbie, I too wanted to know; specifically- what made those expensive online products better than what I could buy at the store. Luckily; I learned a lot from this forum. I used search and found a lot. But search doesn't always work well- especially when you don't know specifically what you are looking for. Most forum search systems only search by individual keywords, not phrases. Which makes it pretty useless as "over the counter versus online" will be searched as "over" then "counter" then "versus" and so on... getting a bunch of garbage results in the process.

You realize that putting your web address and name in your signature is a commonly used and appropriate way to increase your business's web presence, right?
This thread is going nowhere fast. No one is perfect and being overly critical of others leads to nothing but strife.
