I hate the 2010 Sorento AWD. It drives like ####, and some of the interior ergonomics is just stupid. I know after I get rid of the 93 Supra we're picking up a 2011 Sorento or a Sportage and the fit/finish/material and the FEEL of actually driving is like FL Summer vs NY Winter.
Also about the whole "Amurica" statement, just buy a Hyundai than since most of the stuff they build comes from Birmingham Alabama (pass on the Genesis sedan and Sonata). Hell a fracking Toyota Camry is more built in "Amurica" than most of the stuff GM sells. Oh yeah BMW's X5 and X3 all South Carolina built "Amurican" car.
But if that doesn't bother you OP just go out and test drive some of these things and get back to us. I would suggest Buick also but they have gotten ex termly expensive brand new with that awesome new restyling that they went under.
Ummm, what's with the "Amurica" thing?

Unless it's cash the bank probably won't let him get that old of a car. Speaking of though, I saw a '99 fully loaded for $14,500 with 75k on it. Such a nice car!

That's the E36. I'm thinking of the 2001-2006 model.

The perception that some people have over that is American made and what isn't in car Manufactures just because of what Badge is placed on the hood.

I understand that many American cars aren't entirely made in America, and many foreign cars are at least partially made in America. I was just questioning your repeated spelling "Amurica". Not sure what that was intended to mean.
FWIW, I now own a Ford truck after having a 4Runner for 12 years, and my wife has a Nissan Murano after having a Chevy Suburban for 8 years. All great vehicles in our opinion.
