    garage parking assistance

in my garage, i went from parking a mazdaspeed3 to a f'n double cab 4x4. i was thinking of lots of things to help park it precisely, but they would either be annoying when not in use, or hard to execute without access to tooling and a production plant in vietnam.

i'm getting it. anyone have anything similar or use something other than a damned tennis ball on a string?

without getting something with lasers, i'm wondering what would be the best way to set something up where i could park it precisely in terms of not only the front of the truck, but also the side. the doodad above takes care of the front of the truck, but i'm still figuring out the side issue.

What I did with my dodge was pull in precisely with the help of my girlfriend and place a pair of cinder blocks where the front tires needed to be. They were heavy enough to not move when I tapped them when pulling in, just stop as soon as you feel them. This helped with the depth of pulling in. As far as the sides go, i just took some swim noodles and double sided taped them to the wall so if I opened my door too far no damage was caused.

Use the damned tennis ball and hang it so center of hood hits it.

For my wife's car, we use the "damned tennis ball on a string". For mine, I line it up with my wheel well brush that hangs on a hook on the wall. I also have a low pile carpet hanging on the wall to protect the doors.

Tennis ball to windshield. My goal was maximum clearance in the front of the vehicle. So I pulled the car in just far enough to get the door closed w/o touching, then hung the ball so that it touches the window.

Glad to hear this works well, I was a bit turned off after reading a bunch of negative reviews on Amazon.

I've had nothing but good luck with it. No malfunctions, easy to reset, etc. I have it plugged directly into a wall outlet.

I use two 2x4 and place it where I want the front tires to stop. Too much work with the tennis ball. ( I have no ladder)
