friends wedding, great party.
gonna wash my dirty nissan and put a coat of liq. pinn. sov. on her. then do a full interior clean with dp prot. getting ready for a road trip to NH on wed.
I love DP products! although, I'm starting to lean towards the pinnacle line, thanks to liq. sovereign!
Finished up yesterdays wash, clay and wax on my G8 GT by doing the tires and wheel arches and under hood with Meguiar's Hyper Dressing. Meguiars Hyper Dressing
I then washed the wife's TBSS. I'll wax it later today when the sun goes down and it cools off. I'll also do her tires, wheel arches and under hood at that time.
Tomorrow looks like rain so I'll give them both a second coat of wax (Meguiar's Gold Class paste on mine, Meguiar's NXT 2.0 on hers.)
I put the third coat of Helmsman Spar Urethane on the pre-cut boards for an $80 6' picnic table from Home Depot, I've put at least 30 man hours into this cheap little table.
Last year all table pieces were sanded and wood bleached a couple times then sanded progressively down. Starting at 80 grit on a belt sander to (at least) 320 grit on a vibrating sander. Then just the table top piece was treated with Min Wax Pre-Stain treatment twice, each one day apart. Then very thoroughly stain/sealed with Minwax Wood finish in three coats, being very careful to get every nook, cranny, knothole etc. saturated and excess removed. And finally two coats of Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane, just as thoroughly applied, but sanded between coats.
This year I've gotten the rest of the pieces (frame and seats) caught up with the table top piece. The frame and seat boards had to be bleached and sanded again because little beads of sap had seeped out all over.
I plan on taping off the bottom of the table top and seats to fill between the boards and a 1/4"on top with Super-Glaze, it's the really thick clear coat like on nice bar-tops.
The amount of effort I have put into this table is comedic, but it should last a little longer than the last one I had... It was just stained once for some color.
A couple pics-
I think this is Pre-stain treatment (left) and first coat of stain in progress (right)

Gotta have a reflection shot!

Sorry it's not car related If it wasn't so crappy out I would have had big, not car related, project to post about... Building a Retaining Wall.
Gonna take the wand at the self do-it car wash to clean up my wheel wells and then head off to a pool party for some good times.
