    Re: Where to go?

I stopped getting notices for about a week... figured it was just slow (although counterintuitive to the start of warmer weekends).

Now I'm only able to get into the forums once about every 20 tries. The rest results in the database error page. Annoying

    Re: Where to go?

I had the database error on Friday (?) but haven't seen it since. I don't normally check the forum on the weekends, so my datapoint is pretty small. Since then though, I've had no issues at all.

    Re: Where to go?

it is weird that this seems to be affecting or happening differently for different people and for me it happened on my laptop browser and TapaTalk at the same time so I know it was at the server end

Plus the damn spambots seem to be getting worse

I saw one the other day that said the user was a member since 2019 and the spam that was posted was their first post

I don't pretend to understand how that works

I presume that either these people have a long-term strategy, or that they hacked into an unused account.

Oh, PS, this (database error) is different than the slow response time that was affecting both Autopia and AGO, this database error seems confined to AGO.

My vote is is on a hacked account. One of the most common tactics is to find an old/unused account with a weak password and hijack it. Another option is they set up a new account and spoofed the account details, but that would be more elaborate work for a spambot vs simply cracking a password and taking ownership.

    Re: Where to go?

Yeah, old/inactive accounts are typically one of the easier entry points to compromise so I don't find this particularly suspicious just tiresome. Just adding my voice to the chorus over the database errors, it's definitely a server side issue. I hope that's not (yet another) sign of the beginning of the end as there's so much content here that remains relevant and useful.
