What's up guys. So I did my first RV detail yesterday. 36 foot 2014 Winnebago Itasca Meridian. Came out good. Questions:

Fiberglass roof... After cleaning looked chalky white after cleaning with bleach (small spots for mold) and DP Extreme Foaming soap. Clean as heck but.. Should I be going over the roof with something to coat it? Not a whole drawn out 3 hour process but a simple step to seal the fiberglass?

Bugs... All purpose cleaner with microfiber? I'm reading that there is still no "silver bullet".

What you're describing is oxidation. The only fix is to physically abrade the surface. The best way to remove the oxidation and restore a glossy finish is to use a one-step cleaner wax, like McKee’s RV One-Step Compound, Polish & Wax

This product does 3 things:

• Compounds to remove oxidation
• Polishes to create a high gloss finish
• Seals for long lasting protection

Nick, not oxidation. This things new. 2014 RV. Not that a new RV can't oxidize but...what I'm saying is that after I washed it, I felt like perhaps the bleach may have stripped off whatever was on the roof. My question is mainly.... After I wash it, do I need to add some sort of quick spray sealant type product to replace what may have been washed/stripped off if the diluted bleach I used for some minor mold around a.c. units etc... ripped off whatever is used to seal the fiberglass roof?

Sounds as if the bleach could have potentially damaged the finish on the fiberglass roof.

What dilution ration did you use the bleach at? Hopefully NOT full strength!

Does it have a rough or smooth textured roof?

I personally would NEVER use bleach on the smooth roofs, I could see using a mild dilution of bleach on the black textured ones.

Were you using bleach in the sun? I think that could be a recipe for disaster!

Gel coat is very porous, so it's possible you damaged the top layer of the roof. Polishing it with the aforementioned AIO will restore the shine while adding protection.
