Prima Amigo.. abrasives?
Hey hopefully I can get some info before this great sale runs out.
I have PBL paint coating on my truck as of now and want to use my HydroMax for my winter LSP.
Will Amigo remove the coating on my truck? I thought I heard it has some abrasives in it. If I were to use a finishing pad w/ Amigo wondering if that will be enough to take off the PBL.

You have one of the best coatings on the market. Leave it alone. Leave it alone. Wash/maintain with pinnacles coating soap, and leave it alone. If you top it with anything, at least stay within the family if that coating manufacturer recommends it.

Re: Prima Amigo.. abrasives?
IMO...Kinda depends on:
Just how tough of a product
PBL's Paint Coating truly is.
Amigo:
-has been referred to as
being a "unique" product.
-fills; yet still cleans-up residues
-"acrylic"...yet:
-contains no waxes or silicones
It may boil down to trying Amigo out on a
"Test Spot" as being your best barometer.

The reason why I want to remove it is b/c I recently had TERRIBLE water spots when I used too much Ultima shampoo. I pretty much had to use CarPro Spotless all over the truck.
I think I'm done with coatings.

Amigo should do it. My prima process....
1. AMIGO to prep the paint.
2. HYDRO MAX.
3. HYDRO WAX AS YOU DRY to maintain.

Amigo does have abbrasives so it will most likely at least degrade the coating. But if you use it lightly by hand you should be ok.

This is exactly what I want to do for this upcoming winter.

Re: Prima Amigo.. abrasives?
So, the question I can never seem to get answered is, how do you know you removed all the coating? Or, is it possible to remove ALL the coating without aggressive compounding?
Since paint is not flat, there are peaks, hills, and valleys. Since regular foam pad polishing does nothing to remove orange peel (leveling peaks of paint flat), who is to say regular foam pad polishing COMPLETELY removes the coating from the valleys in the paint?
