VX-5000 - only because we use two everyday and they get the job done - they are our top tool alongside the cyclo IMO - VX-5000 has allowed us to ..... steam carpets, upholstery, blast cracks, clean rims, thorough clean jambs, detail engines, etc. We have mastered steam in auto detailing and it out weighs most other detailing tools IMO when understanding the ability of the tool.

Its funny how you are the first one to comment as I just got done reading a post you wrote about steam cleaners! haha. The VX5000 is really your go to hunh? Do you use specific attachments to separate what you use for say Door Jambs/Engines where there can be a lot of grease and grime than what you use on carpet and upholstery? Or do you have 1 steamer for specific things?

The steamer has many attachments - we use the "tri" head nozzle with the small triangular brush head for carpets and upholstery - then we use the "single" head attachment by itself to blast out any cracks and crevices, also used on engines, and jambs. This atachment blasts a significant amount of steam in a concentrated area to allow maximum cleansing ability. When the tri head attachment and/or small triangular brush head has been used beyond capability - we use the large triangular head for carpet and upholstery. Hope this helps!

The VX 5000 is a good machine for the price but Dupray is an awesome machine. I agree with Tony that it is an incredible tool for detailing. Very versatile.

No sir - I couldn't imagine doing the entire exterior with the vx5000.... there are bigger and more powerful steamers that cater to that need though.... the vx has been an awesome all around mid size steamer in performance.
