The reviews on those compressors don't seem too good. I almost bought one for the price and how they are. The quality seems iffy though.

The one I was looking at was the twin tank design. It just seemed cheaply made compared to others I looked at.

It's funny you say that, as I bought mine based off of the reviews of these, compared to reviews of Craftsman, Porter Cable, et al.
Can't speak for anyone but myself - I'm thrilled with mine.

I've been quite happy with this model: Makita MAC700 Big Bore 2.0 HP Air Compressor - Amazon.com
Quiet and has a lot of power. Rugged and runs better than a much larger unit I replaced.

Seems to me that those California air tools compressors with their oil-free design may be best for labs, clean rooms and or painting duty. Perhaps they're not designed to handle the rugged and dirty environments that an oiled cast iron unit sees their best fit in.

Dave - I do keep a clean garage, and some have called it a lab...
