Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,

Sy, not sure what the issue is with getting the TW tire coating to work on those tires, they should look "just applied" after only one rinseless wash for sure, that is unless you drove through a monsoon, LOL!

Maybe some more scrubbing is in order and maybe apply 3 coats with the normal 10 minute dry time inbetween. I really want this to work for you because I really like your car, especially the color! That said, when do the dark bronze Volks go on??!!

I'll let it go as is through the winter clean them well and reapply (I still have over half the bottle

I know my wheels are filthy, but they are sealed and I don't like using rinseless on them so, I'll get them next week.

Which tire cleaner did you use? If it was the supplied cleaner, it's not going to remove everything.

I used Adam's APC which is as effective or more effective than Tuf Shine. Then I used the Turtle Wax cleaner just because the directions said to.

I was hoping to update you guys on my work van as I usually get it washed every 2 weeks but the weather has sucked for the most part this week, this coming Monday shows rain too, so it will be over 6 weeks when I do get to wash and wipe down the tires with a mf towel afterwards. I know this, the tires are dirty anf this will be the best test to date. That said, remember its 1 coat and its going to be over a month and a half old!

    Stay tuned!!

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,

    Thanks for this thread….

I recently went out to my local Autozone and picked up a kit for $17.

I live out here in the high desert so i'm curious to find out how long this'll last.

I'll post an update when I begin to see the shine fade……..

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,

Just a heads up guys. I picked some up at my local Wally world tonight. It was $13 with a $3 off coupon right on the box. So $10.xx out the door. Can't wait to try it out and hopefully get the same results you guys are experiencing.

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,

The cleaner your tires are the better this works, it's not hard to work with like tough shine can be but still the cleaner the better, it will last longer.

Also like all tire shine products, different tire brands seem to work better with products than others.

I washed my work van yesterday and they still looked pretty good after 48 days, today will be day #49 and I will snap a pic. I washed the van at the local drive thru wash and went about my day of work, then at the end of the day, I stopped by car and grabbed my ECO TOUCH waterless wash and an mf towel and sprayed the tire and hubcap and will post the pic today. I do this to even out the finish. The pic will be posted when I start work in less than 3 hrs...stay tuned, this will day #49!

    ***UPDATE***

Its day #49 for the single coat I applied on July 10th. Ofcoarse it doesn't look like it did 3 weeks ago, its been raining a lot and the van went 3 weeks between washes, keeping in mind its driven 150-200 miles a day. Here it is after an ECO TOUCH waterless wash wiping last night, picture taken before I headed out this morning:
