Brink ann needed to discontinue them. They were crap IMO. A lot of people had problems with them after a short time.

LED is longer lasting and IMHO better than the original xenon bulb model

Tuff Max don't do it!!!
While its great when it works, it's basically a very cheaply constructed product. Now, I'm going to admit I DROPPED mine once. But, that's all it took. One drop. The battery door broke and I've had it apart numerous times to fix poor connections at the battery case.
Currently, it's not working again. I'm too lazy to care. I bought a Coast 1000 lumen flashlight that is pretty high quality light so far. Works perfectly every time and the beam is adjustable.

Mine literally ate batteries (when it worked). I would add new batteries, and it would sit a few weeks dormant. Then I would go to use it and the batteries where dead. Plus the connectors in the battery case of mine always had corrosion on them.
Dunno. Just what happened with mine.

I am curious about this topic, particularly the xenon vs LED issue. In a previous post Mike stated that xenon was superior for finding swirls. However, many use LED and praise them. Further, the number of lumens, some have stated, should not exceed about 300 as the reflection off the paint should not be so bright as to contract the pupil and hinder one's ability to inspect the paint. Please chime in with experiences.

Very good information. I use a 277 lumen Fenix HP11 LED headlamp for all of my correction work. The HP11 has four different levels of light output and I use level three and four for correction work. You can buy an LED headlamp or flashlight brighter than 300 lumens but I wouldn't use it on the max setting all of the time. After performing a multiple step paint correction I occasionally suffer from some eye strain.
You may even want to look at the Fenix HP15 LED headlamp. The HP15 is a new model and there aren't many reviews yet. However Fenix makes a quality product and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another LED headlamp/flashlight.
Be sure to buy a bunch of rechargeable AA batteries. I have twelve rechargeable AA batteries that I change throughout the detail.
