Tree sap stain on SS paint.
Hey everyone,
I am working on a 1999 Mazda Miata MX-5 with single stage white paint. The car was covered with tree sap and removing them was a paint in the butt. I had to pull out the steamer to melt each little dot and then wipe away the residue with some IPA. Now the hood which was repainted with Base/Clear is fine. But the rest of the car was mildly stained with the yellow sap that melted. Any idea on how to remove it besides abrading the paint with a polish?

That is the link to the photo. The paint is roughly around 50-60 some odd microns in the single stage areas so I'm not comfortable polishing it out. I tried Meg's Cleaner/Wax on a green CCS pad and it isn't cutting it. HELP!

Well I never tried this on paint, but.. I have taken gum out of carpets by placing a terry cloth towel on the gum and got a regular old iron and placed it on top, the gum soaked up into the cloth, then just a quick wipe and it was clean.
