Are tampico brushes safe for cleaning wheels

I just purchased a wheel brush made from tampico material. The manufacturer indicates the brush is safe for cleaning all types of wheel finishes, however, it feels a little abrasive. Anyone know if these wheels are alright to use on chrome, aluminum, and or clearcoated wheels?

IMO I think it's too abrasive for wheels...it might be fine for chrome but I'd never use it for polished/uncoated aluminum wheels. I use a wash mitt or boar's hair brush for wheels.
