    Re: Automatic Car Wash

I've never used an automatic car wash on personal vehicle. Grew up with a heated auto garage at my dad's car lot. I have used countless touchless car washes.

Haven't been through a touchless in about six months. I use the self service bays and bring two buckets sealed with hot water. Those who live in the "rust belt" need to try this method. Wish I would have seen it years ago.

I totally get the anxiety of the auto wash's brushes scratching paint. I just looked at a 2014 Ford Fusion at a used car lot. The paint looked liked it had been sanded with 5000 grit. The finest scratches (all horizontal)down entire sides.

    Re: Automatic Car Wash

I don't mind the pdq or other touchless car washes in my area during the winter. But, I will never use the ones with the rubber/foam fingers...I cringe thinking about it.

I do that too in the Winter. I run the car through the touchless to get the heavy stuff off, then I take it home and wash it...
