Least favorite detail job
What detail job to do dred doing? I love to do the exterior of my car, from washing to waxing, and I don't even mind doing the windows. But I really hate doing the interior. Just seems to take so long and it's tedious. I'm a really neat and organized person, so my interior doesn't get all trashed up. I probably do my interior once every 2 months, aside from a dusting or wiping the glass.
What's your hated job?

I hate the interior. In Fact I do let the people know I do the EXTERIOR ONLY. I let them know I will not clean the interior. 2 things are saved. 1 My time and 2 I do not have to worry about something valuable being lost or accidently removed.

Re: Least favorite detail job
I actually like interiors and windows(two hated areas)
My least favorite part of a detail is the tires/wheels. There's always some elbow grease, lots of tools, stinky chemicals, or some combination thereof to get them completely clean on neglected ones.

My least favorite is glass...interior glass and especially the inside of the rear window.

Re: Least favorite detail job
although I'm not too big on interior cleaning I'd have to say Clay baring is my least favorite part.... I know it's a very important step in detailing but it takes soo long to do.... I'm ordering a nanoskin sponge to hopefully help cut some time off

Doorjambs. I hate having to wipedown doorjambs after a wash.. If at all possible I try to skip this step as it's pretty much certain to thrash my drying towel to the point of being unusable in just a few seconds. I hate that.
2nd least fav. thing on the list is getting into the drivers seat once I'm all done to move the vehicle and tracking any dirt/grass back into the matt/seeing the customer do it to their perfectly finished car.

Wheels. I do Rinseless/waterless. Lots of elbow grease and I have to sacrifice towels every time. Door jambs aren't half as bad as wheels.

Once you use a Nanoskin....you will never go back to clay. You will reduce your claying time at least 1/3 to 1/2. Just make sure you use plenty of lube!!

Re: Least favorite detail job
I really don't like doing windows! Interiors are ok. Paint is fun but cleaning and coating wheels is my favorite. Wheels can make or break a detail so I really focus a lot of attention on making wheels perfect.
