need help with a polished lip

so ya, i got a call today from a friend with some black aftermarket 19" wheels on his silver tC. these wheels have a polished lip on them. He wants me to get them back to brand new condition. so far he's tried to use some Nevr Dull on them, and he said that failed miserably. ND is my go-to metal polish, and now that he's said that isn't going to work, i don't know what to do. I don't have much experience w/ metal polishing, so any hints, tips, tricks, etc etc would be useful..

i said that i could do them tommorow, any chance of getting something at the local stores, or am i going to have to drive down to AG?

My friend has Billet by mother's that works great for him. Assuming this polished lip is chrome, you might want to give it a try. He got it at a local Kragen (don't know if you have them there).

I've used mothers polish (comes with the power ball kit sold here at AG) and it worked awesome on a set of polished rims I had. As a matter of fact it did a better job then AIO did getting them new looking.

The polished lip isn't clear coated, is it? I have run across many wheels with polished pieces and cleared. Using a metal polish on that will mess up the clear bad enough to really make them look bad.

I love Simichrome but not easy to find. Get some Flitz metal polish or mothers metal polish for aluminum.

regular mothers in the red tub leaves my wheels hazy. The mothers billet polish w/ the powerballs is my go-to.
