Wash mitts: do you put your hand inside?
I just finished washing my car. I was thinking to myself...I never put my hand inside the mitt. I just grab it by the edge. I don't apply pressure to it; I just "slosh" it over the surface. Maybe I should put my hand inside? I can think of three reasons why I should. One would be to keep from accidentally dropping on the ground. Two, with my hand in the mitt the cuff won't accidentally touch the paint and potentially scratch it. Three, with my hand inside, I could hold the mitt above the surface of the paint and let the microfiber fingers just brush the surface, so as not to scratch the paint. But that seems tedious and unnecessary.
Anyway, just wondering how you do it. Call it a survey of sorts. Answer yes or no; elaborate if you care.

Not often, i typically just grab it. Not really comfortable when you wash odd panels, IMO.

I just recently started using a "mit" so far I have been sticking my hand in it, which I think is great for washing the car as makes it harder to drop it. However when it comes to rinsing it off and scrubbing it on the grit guard in the bottom of my bucket I find that its next to impossible to do that with your hand in it.

Nope, never have. I guess I got it from my father who never did either. Monkey see, monkey do.

I used to just grab it like most others until one day I tried it with my hand inside. What I realized, by having my hand inside, is that I can control the contact much better...lighter downward pressure or more. When I had my hand on the outside, I just dragged it, so only the weight of gravity was pushing the mitt on the paint. by putting my hand inside, I can actually go against the gravity and have even less downward pressure. Even better control on vertical panels (and I don't drop my mitt on the concrete).

Yes. But now I might try just grabbing it! I find my hand slips out a lot. It's pretty annoying slipping my hand back in every few minutes.

I don't put my hand in it either. I think the grab and go method is more comfortable and practical for hitting all manner of different surfaces.
