Coatings - Top 3 and easy to apply (first timer) ??

DR Beasley's coatings look good for easy application. Now if they last that we will wait and see. I myself took the bait with sale going on...

But as been stated, prep your car before using any type of coating...

Thanks again for your input - I will definitely feel good about my choice to go with McKees. Can't wait for the new car to arrive - about another 30 days I'm told - but weather will be getting better by then so that's a plus.

So far Carpro has caught my eye. The instructions seem simple enough... almost like a normal LSP. Apply, wait for XXX amount of time depending on temp, then buff of with provided microfiber towels.

That seems to be less scary than "wipe it in until its invisible", lol.

If a product makes you wipe wipe wipe, chances are you're going to scratch the paint. What's the point in the coating, if you made scratches from trying to wipe it off? (shakes head)

If you're using a quality MF cloth you're not going to scratch anything. Coatings are all pretty much tough enough to prevent micro marring even on solid black.

I do have another question - relates to the Mckee coating kit. The wash product that comes with the kit contains wax. Coatings require wax and oil free surface. Seems counterproductive to use a wash that puts something on the surface that can't be there for the coating to be most effective. Am I being too OCD and should I just rely on the prep/polish to remover whatever wax the wash puts on the surface? Or use a different wash product?

Those kits were made before mckees n-914 came out, I'm sure with the next update Nick might swap it out as 914 leaves nothing behind. I'm the meantime after you wash it and then polish and do your wipe down with choice of product there should be no oils left on the paint before you apply the coat.

Glosscoat is ridiculously easy to apply.I find McKees to be a bit streaky and oily .

My two cents...

For easy of application... incredible gloss and a slick feeling to the paint, not a rubbery feeling, (which I hate out of my LSP), I's say McKee's 37 Paint Coating.

McKee's paint coating is one of the easiest as it's been said many many times on here

Super simple to apply as it's not finicky about temp or humidity.

Realistically you are going to want to polish your car at least yearly to remove any marring and minor scratches.

With that in mind I'd use mckees paint coat, super easy to apply and one bottle can last year's really since a little goes a long way, with regular maintenance washes it will stay in good shape and if it happens to fail for some reason again it's easy to apply and can be done in little Time.

100% agree.

Daily drivers get a dirt stain build up no matter what's on the paint, thus for practical reasons if you want your car's paint to always have that CRISP just detailed look and you're going to use a coating, go for a simple approach and once a year re-polish and then re-coat. It's not complicated and the visual appearance is worth it in my opinion and experience - at least for "car guys". The masses don't know the difference between a squirrel or a swirl.

This is why I chose Mckees. My car is a daily driver. I need to polish yearly.
