    Garage lighting

I know its be mentioned here a lot as I've done a search, but didn't really get a clear answer? I went out and got some T8 6500K CRI 77 bulbs and I fell the 6500K's are too blue. I'm looking for bright white or at least I'm thinking that it would be best for paint correction? Could someone suggest the proper T8 4' bulb that is best to detail under? Thanks

Yes 6500 K would be way to blue to detail under. I would go wtih a 4100K I have them in my garage and love them. I currently have 4 light fixtures each with 4-4'bulbs. I changed out two 8' fixtures that had 2 bulbs in them. What a huge difference between the amount of light plus the color factor. I'm still waiting to get 4 more of these fixtures. One piece of advise, look for a 32 watt T-8 bulb. Normally you will find 28 watt as they save a little on energy but the 32 watt will throw out a little more light. You could also try a 5000K bulb as well. I work in the maintenance dept. fora school district. We use both of these bulbs in our buildings. THe 5000k are in our gyms and we have 4100k but in 28 watt in our classrooms and halls. I don't think you will go wrong with either bulbs.

    Hope this helps,
    Brandon

Has anyone installed these before? I like them, but would want to mount them directly to the ceiling. The directions say not to, as they must be hung from the ceiling.

Normally the t-8 5000k are what go in paint spray booths, for best color rendition. jerelect
