    Re: Product Reccomendations (Honda Paint)

So 205 needs another product after it to finish it off? I dunno how you guys do all this stuff, I hope I do ok! I have a huge bottle of M80 Meguairs I never used I was told that this would do the trick but I havent tried it either. I need to get moving but weather isnt quite here yet to do it.

Never let 205 be your last polish. It doesn't finish off as great as some of the pro's on here say it does and the soft Honda paint will tell every bit of that story.

In my case this was true, I had to follow M205 with PO85RD on a black Cobalt. If you're on a budget, get the 8oz M105/M205 then buy PO85RD. Use flat pads for M105/M205. I used a gray/black ccs pad with PO85RD with no problems but plan to try it with a flat pad. Speaking of pads, buy 5.5" pads.

One of the best posts in this thread. I agree 100% with a DA.

You can also get Ultimate Compound and Swirlx. Some say these are even easier to use, as you can work them for a long time.

Glad to see a fellow SI owner. Mine is a 2007... Wish I could keep mine locked in the garage.

I'm a big fan of Ultimate Compound, but it doesn't get mentioned a whole lot because it's OTC. I've used UC with an orange cutting pad many times instead of M105 when I did some spot wet sanding and it came out great.

M105/M205 would be great, Menzerna has also worked very well on the Civic paints for me (former Si owner) so you could also go with SIP/PO85RD.

That will depend on the paint...

M205 has not been very finish friendly on my honda or acura. Super Finish has. PO85rd also, on very light swirls.

Yeah, the paint on my Milano Red TSX can be improved by following M205 with UF but I've done many cars were PO85RD, PO87MC, or UF do not improve it one bit.

To say M205 must always be followed by something else is just wrong IMO....let the paint decide what needs to be done.
