I have the CR Spotless DIC-20 and wouldn't be without it when detailing. I can let the car dry in 100 degree 100% humidity of the NC sun and not a single water spot!
I was for some crazy reason thinking of purchasing one. How often are you having to recharge/change the resin in it? In my limited research and knowledge it looked expensive if it had to be done often.

I purchased the AG Deluxe Filter System, only used it once last week and NO Water Spots. This is incredible because I too have really really hard water, I also went with the Sediment Filter as I figured there are probably small particles of hard water deposits in all my pipes. I like it a lot so far, prior to that I was using the Mr. Carwash just for the filter mode and What A Pain that was.

It all depends on how hard your water is. Very hard water = very short filter change intervals. If you go to CR Spotless' website, they have a chart that shows you how long the filters will last based on your water hardness level. You can have your water tested or buy a cheap meter for about $15 and test it yourself. The general rule of thumb for most of the states is 200-250 ppm.
