Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?
My 86 yr old neighbor is recovering from a new knee installation. His HHR was looking pretty dirty in the Scottsdale 90 degree sun.
The paint is looks great with no sign of fading or flaking-clearcoat failure. This car sits outside 24-7-365.
3D One was applied with a Cbeast. I had intended to try some Adams Ceramic I won at their monthly retail store open house. I was feeling tired so I shifted to 3D Poxy.
The neighborhood looks much better with a shiny car in view!

Thanks!
I've been a detail obsessed guy for 55 years. I like polishing neighbors cars for "driveway therapy" as well as a change of pace from the 4 cars I have that are already "perfected".
The happiness it brings my car guy friends who are all thumbs is priceless. Not everybody can do what we take for granted doing! I have 3 Corvette pals, who's cars I've perfected, have taken 1st place finishes. I tired of showing my Corvette in the early 90's when I won my class 4 years straight. It's hard to sit still all day in the heat!

That’s the spirit of detailing! I’m getting to where you are in terms of accomplishments.
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?
I did some rinseless wash experimentation on the big Lexus today
I used N-914 at 128:1 and pre-sprayed 1 door at a time and used N-914 at 256:1 with multiple plush MF towels for cleaning
I really felt like this was just about as smooth and safe feeling rinseless wash as I have ever felt, owing in part to the ceramic, but the N-914 just felt like it wouldn't let anything harm the paint
I followed up washing each door by trying a different drying aid/topper and I feel like the Griots Ceramic Speed Shine and Megs Hybrid Ceramic Detailer gave me the safest wipe down and the smoothest feel on the panel, with maybe a slight edge to the Megs in overall ease of use and slickness feel after a pause for some coffee
I tried 3D Bead it Up and it was quite grabby and hard to keep from streaking, even just spritzing it on the drying towel instead of directly on the panel
OCW was it's usual well behaved self but just didn't feel as smooth over the ceramic coating
I did figure out its going to take more than 10 towels to safely wash this monster, that's what I put in the bucket, and I was using 2 towels per door, but I was also being super cautious
After my trip this weekend I will repeat the experiment using the newest version of ONR on 2 of the doors and N-914 on the other 2, and see what feels the best and cleans the best

I add a 1/4 bottle of distilled water to cut it.
