845 base. Can I put a sealant over?

It was just warm enough that I detailed black car 2 weeks ago:

    wash
    clay
    wash
    menzerna
    collinite 845

    then last week

    wash
    2nd coat of collinite

my WGDPS 3.0 just arrived and was itching to try it out

What wax work best over 2 coats of 845? I have 845 left and new wgdps

    Thanks!

I think you're best off with 845 as your LSP. If it was my car, I'd put down the Wolfgang first and then 1 coat of 845

I would not use any sealant over 845..If you have 2 coats already then you are good for a while and try WG when you polish your car again..

I agree, Wolfgang first, then follow with 845 if you want. Also 2 coats of 845 is plenty for winter.

You would just be spinning your wheels. Use it on another car to get the full effect from it.

Re: 845 base. Can I put a sealant over?

When the 2nd coat of 845 went on, the car had an amazing slippery surface. The coats I had applied were thin with a DA

My wife put a coffee cup on the roof and it slid off , the surface was so slippery

But After 3 rain storms, about 1inch of rain total, the slipperiness is gone. The beading held up ok.

Will another thin coat of 845 be ok? to bring it back the slipperiness and to achieve durability for winter. Or other suggestions?

Should I expect slipperiness to last?

Should I expect slipperiness to last?
    First:
I don’t equate slipperiness with durability.
    (“Beading” runs a close second.)

    Secondly:
If just 3 rain-only events adversely affected
#845’s slipperiness to the point of vanishment...
imagine the havoc that a full Winter’s worth of
inclimate weather could possibly wreak upon
its slipperiness characteristic. (Does that mean
it’s protective characteristic could also be gone?)

    Thirdly:
I don’t expect an LSP’s slipperiness to last
very long. (Getting more than just a few
weeks worth would be meritorious, IMO.)

    Lastly:
    •Some say Collinite #845 is a Hybrid.
-That is: it contains both Carnauba
    and Synthetic Wax components.

    -With that in mind:
    Conduct an experiment.

    -On opposing vehicle panels:
Apply one coat of #845; and one
coat of WDGPS 3.0. This will enable
you to more readily see how each
    product’s characteristics—including
    any slipperiness—are manifested
    before, during, and/or after they
    both undergo Winter weather woes.

Or, use a spray wax the next time you wash the car. This will get you the slickness back that you desire.

845 is very durable, two coats should give you many months of protection.

There is no such thing as layering of waxes, sealants, coatings to increase gloss and protection. You will always end up with just 1 layer. A second layer may be added if you doubted full coverage on the first layer. Wgdgps 3.0 is more durable, better looking and more slick than 845.
